- Camera options
- 1080 @ 24fps (60/120 or higher for slow motion)
- Auto White balance is okay
- ISO – as low as possible
- In a perfect world, shutter speed number should be twice fps
- Manual exposure has its place, say when walking in a room past a bright window
- Stabilize the camera
- Hand held – quick review of techniques
- Tripod – ideally with ‘fluid head’
- Gimbal (3 axis )
- In body image or in lens stabilization is great to have
- Shooting
- Change camera angles SLOOOWLY, moving in one direction, not back and forth
- Get one of each, if possible
- Wide – establishing (where are we)
- Medium – who or what is the subject
- Close – fill the screen with the action
- Extreme closeup – lets see the dots in the “i”’s
- Consider transitions
- Person or thing leaves the scene
- Thing moves behind something big in the foreground
- Pull up from looking down at ground
- Traveling into, out of small openings
- Perspectives
- Shoot living things at eye level, example “worms eye view”
- 3rd person and point of view
- Possible subjects
- Fountains shooting water up (play area)
- Peoples faces and activities
- Trains/peddle boats/etc
- Flowers
- Alligators?
