Southwest Florida:
A day in the life
Through the lens of the Bugs
Film Synopsis
A short digital documentary film highlighting the region of Southwest Florida, as seen by members of a local photography club.
The Logline
Our film “short” is the capturing of moving images as seen by members of our club as we go about our adventures and education as members of the Southwest Florida Shutterbugs. Prospective new members, Florida residents, and visitors will be able to see the beauty and points of interest behind and through the lens of this multi-talent group of beginners, enthusiasts, and semi-pros.
Screenplay Structure
Documentaries are difficult to force into scripts, until after the footage is captured. In our case, we will seek to imagine.
Our characters and actors are the members, the flora, and fauna (including human) inhabiting SWFL.
These characters will bring the film to fruition as both the artist and the subject.
Film Treatment
We open with early morning scenes of water, birds, sky and the sights and activities of the morning. These may jump from place to place, but largely stay with early morning activities. Morning twilight, bird calls, shorebirds, sunrise and the like. Mid-day activities might include anything from museums to fishing to golf. Evening activities might include the Edison Parade, Friday night on 1st Street, the SWFL Critical Mass bicycle ride, time lapse imagery of moonrise or the MilkyWay rotation.
